St. Mary's played "small ball", scoring 8 runs on only 5 hits. Kenny Williams was credited with the win, pitching (7)innings, striking out (7) while walking only (1) Redhawks hitter. DeAtley scattered 8 hits for a complete game victory. John Bass hit a grand slam and Matt Haynes homered as well. Mike Finamore, Mike McAllister and Rudy Carrico all had 3 hits. The Redhawks used 4 pitchers but none could shutdown Combine. Tommy Stratchko took the loss.

September 2, 2004 St. Mary's - 6 Waldorf - 0 WP: Chris Boarman LP: Chris Boyce Summary/Highlights Submitted by St. Mary's St. Mary's secured the # 3 seed in the upcoming playoffs with the 6-0 defeat of Waldorf on Thursday evening at Chancellors Run Regional Park. Chris Boarman relived Kenny Williams in the 4th inning with a 2-0 lead, however Boarman was the most effective pitcher, thus receiving the credit for the win. Jim Tanavage had 2 of the 4 SMBC hits in the game.
St. Mary's - 9 Waldorf - 3 WP: Paul Burch LP: Blair Bowman Summary/Highlights Submitted by St. Mary's St. Mary's completed the sweep of Waldorf with a 9-3 second game victory. Paul Burch pitched 5 innings, striking out 7 to get his first CHASM win. St. Mary's 11-hit attack was lead by Joe Drury who went 3 for 4 and 3 RBI. September 1, 2004 Bumpy Oak - 6 Combine - 5 WP: Tommy Sellers LP: Josh Matthews Summary/Highlights Submitted by Bumpy Oak Bumpy Oak defeated Combine 6-5 in a 10-inning night game at White
Plains. Pat O'Brien was the hero with a game-winning, bases-loaded RBI single in the bottom of the 10th. Shaun Bowling pitched well for Bumpy Oak
and got relief help from Jerry Michael and Tommy Sellers. Sellers earned the victory. Morgan Fields pitched one-hit ball over 6 1/3 innings
for Combine before being relieved by Josh Matthews. Matthews pitched the final three innings and suffered the loss. Offensively, Combine's
Mike McAllister, Rudy Carrico, Eddy Henderson, and Fields each had two hits apiece, both of Henderson's being doubles. Bumpy Oak's B.J. Kittle
Western Charles - 4 Legion - 2 WP: Mike Balenger LP: Tony Sweeney Summary/Highlights Submitted by Western Charles Mike Balenger and Nick Vitielliss held down Legion enough for Western Charles to win it's fifth straight game to close the season. Offensively John Klopfer Jr. and Mike Pickeral led the way. Klopfer was 3 for 4 with two runs, a tripple, and a stolen base. Pickeral was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI. For Legion, Ronnie Jameson was 2 for 3 and Drew Lydon contributed with 2 RBI. August 29, 2004 St. Mary's - 3 Bumpy Oak - 2 WP: Jay Herbert LP: B.J. Kittle Summary/Highlights Submitted by St. Mary's In another typical St. Mary's vs. Bumpy Oak contest, St. Mary's scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th inning with 2 outs to win 3-2. Jason Bean's 2 RBI single was the game winner for SMBC. Jay Herbert went the distance for the win. Submitted by Bumpy Oak Trailing 2-1 and down to their last out, St. Mary's rallied for two runs on Jason Bean's 2-RBI single off of Billye Hollister. BJ Kittle suffered a tough-luck loss and Jay Herbert got the victory. Bean had 2 hits for the Door. Kittle and Bobby Rawlings each had two hits for the Bombers, one of Rawlings' a solo homerun.
Bumpy Oak - 6 St. Mary's - 1 WP: Billye Hollister LP: Kenny Williams Summary/Highlights Submitted by St. Mary's In the second game of the doubleheader, Bumpy Oak defeated SMBC 6-1 behind the pitching of Billy Hollister.Bumpy Oak scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning on 3 hits and 2 St. Mary's errors and were never seriously challenged for the remainder of the game. Jamie Wright had 2 of the 9 Bumpy Oak hits. Steve Zumpano and Joe Drury each had mutiple hit games for St. Mary's. Submitted by Bumpy Oak Billye Hollister earned the win scattering 5 hits and one walk over 6 innings. Jaime Wright and Rob Adams had two hits for Bumpy Oak and Wright added 2 RBI. Steve Zumpano and Joe Drury led St. Mary's with 2 hits apiece. Zumpano's 2-out RBI single marked the end of Hollister's streak of not allowing an earned run since his league debut - a span of 43 innings.

He also led the offense going 4-4 with a 2B, SB, 2Runs and 3RBI. Seth Overbey also had 3 RBI. Sean Duke struck out 4 and allowed 4 runs through the first 5 innings before tiring in the 6th for Cold Zone. Danny Lydon earned the win scattering 7 hits and striking out 5. Seth Overbey scored twice and had 3RBI, Bobby Connolly had an RBI, 2 SB's and 3 runs scored. Kenny Bragg had 2 RBI while Tommy Strachko and Darren Sanders had multi hit games. Mike Balenger took the loss for Western Charles. Western Charles - 1 Redhawks - 0 WP: Nick Vitielliss LP: Seth Overbey Summary/Highlights Submitted by Redhawks Game 2 was an unbelievable pitchers duel facing Seth Overbey vs Nick Vitielliss. Overbey took a perfect game into the 6th before Balenger broke it up with a bloop single. Overbey allowed 1 unearned run, 3 hits and struck out 8. Vitielliss pitched a 1 hit, 4 strikeout shutout. Western Charles scored the only run on a wild throw in the top of the 7th inning.
Legion - 4 Bumpy Oak - 3 WP: Tony Sweeney LP: Tommy Sellers Summary/Highlights Submitted by Bumpy Oak Legion and Bumpy Oak split a doubleheader on a soggy Legion Field. The two teams locked into a 3-3 duel in the first game, and Legion prevailed by scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning on a bases-loaded walk to Dave Russell. Tony Sweeney was the winning pitcher and Tommy Sellers took the loss. BJ Kittle led Bumpy Oak with a 3-for-4 performance and Pernell Young had a 2 RBI single. Combine defeated Waldorf July 25, 2004 Redhawks - 3 Bumpy Oak - 2 WP: Seth Overbey LP: Shaun Bowling Summary/Highlights Submitted by Redhawks The Redhawks snapped a 3 game losing streak defeating Bumpy Oak 3-2. Seth Overbey earned his first victory of the season giving up 6 hits in a complete game effort. Overbey also scored the winning run in the bottom of the 8th off of a double by Darren Sanders. Elliot Cardano and Sanders each had multi hit games. B.J. Kittle had 2 hits and both Bumpy Oak runs for the Bombers. Bumpy Oak also turned a 3-3-6 triple play in the bottom of the first. Submitted by Bumpy Oak The Redhawks defeated Bumpy Oak 3-2. Darren Sanders hit an RBI double
off BJ Kittle in the 8th inning to break a 2-2 tie and give the Redhawks the victory. Seth Overby pitched the complete game for the
Redhawks, scattering 8 hits, walking one, and striking out 3. Billye Hollister
pitched well for the Bombers, pitching five innings of 2-hit ball with 4 strikeouts and a pair of walks. Shaun Bowling pitched 2 1/3 innings of
relief allowing 4 hits, one walk and 2 K's and suffering the loss. Kittle pitched the final 2/3 inning striking out one, walking one, and

be enough as they beat St. Mary's 3-2 at St. Mary's College.St. Mary's trio of pitchers Clarke Rollins, Kenny Williams and Jay Herbert kept
the Combine bats in check but St. Mary's scoring slump continues as they left 11 runners on base. Mike Finnamore and Jeff Cote had multiple hits
for Combine. John Childers was 4 for 5 for SMBC. In a tight contest, Combine prevailed over the Green Door. Combine collected it's 3 runs in the first 3 innings and was led offensively by Jeff Cote and Brian King, each going 2 for 4. St. Mary's had several opportunities but failed to deliver that crucial hit. The Door was led by John Childers collecting 4 hits. Jeff Angst came on in the top of the ninth with one runner on to earn the save, inducing a pop up bunt attempt and a big league popup on consecutive batters.
Waldorf - 14 Western Charles - 9 WP: Brandon Miller LP: Tim Deavers Summary/Highlights Submitted by Western Charles Waldorf, behind the starting pitching of Brandon Miller defeated Western Charles. Waldorf batters combined for 9 hits including 3 home runs in the game. Jason Boyd was 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 RBI. Chris Boyce was 2 for 3 with 4 runs scored. Mike Madison was 2 for 5 and Jason Pointsette and Dave Ross each hit homers. For Western Charles, John Klopfer III was 4 for 4 with two runs and 3 RBI. Ryan Shifflett was 2 for 2 with a double a run and an RBI.

Combine - 10 Redhawks - 1 WP: Dave Cross LP: Danny Lydon Summary/Highlights Submitted by Redhawks The Redhawk bats continued to struggle with a 5 hit 1 run game. Dave
Cross earned the win pitching 6 strong innings. Danny Lee and Mike Finamore each had a 2-run homerun. Morgan Fields had 4 hits including a
key 2-run, 2-out double to break the 0-0 deadlock in the 4th inning. Danny Lydon took the loss surrendering 10 hits in 5 innings. Travis
Peters had a 2-hit game for the Redhawks. Combine broke open a scoreless game with 5 runs in the 4th with 2 outs. The key hit was a double from Morgan Fields bringing in the first 2 runs of the game. He was 4 for 4 on the day. Other big shots came off the bat of Mike Finamore and Danny Lee, each connecting on 2run HR's. It was more than enough run support for Dave Cross, making his first appearance on the year. The lone blemish on the day was Seth Overbey scoring on an RBI groundout after 2 consecutive steals to reach third base.
