Ryan Baione tossed a 5-hitter with 8 k's over 7 innings and Ben Sobocinski pitched a scoreless 8th. The game was called in the top of the ninth after two Legion ejections. Sobocinski was 2-for-3 with a HR and 2 RBI. John Lee collected three hits while BJ Kittle, Danny Michael, and Jaime Wright added two hits each. Legion's Dave Hoffmaster had the only multi-hit game for the home team; both hits were solo homeruns - his 5th and 6th homers of the year.

Western Charles started out fast and jumped out to a 5-1 lead after two innings, but only managed one more run the remainder of the game. Legion was led by Jon Bass who had two home runs, one being a grand slam. He had three hits in the game, seven RBI, and two runs scored. Dave Hoffmaster also had a home run. For Western Charles, Mike Pickeral and John Kehres were both 2-4 and Joey Klopfer had a home run and two RBI in the game.

Combine jumped out to an early lead by scoring two in the first and another two in the third. They added one more in the fifth and seventh. Western Charles did not get on the board until a four run seventh. They added one more in the eighth, but came one run short of tying the game. Combine was led by a complete game performance by Clarke Rollins. Corey Jones and Rudy Carrico both had two hits for Combine. Jones had a HR and two RBI. Joey Klopfer was 2-4 with an RBI for Western Charles.

The two teams combined for 35 hits during a windy contest at Legion Field. Ray Michael went 2-for-4 with a homerun and 4 RBI while Darren Sanders had a double a 3 RBI to lead Bumpy Oak. Joel Hudson led the way for Legion with a homerun and 5 RBI. Teammate Dave Hoffmaster went 4-for-5 with a homerun, 2 RBI, and 3 runs scored.

St. Mary's Door run-ruled the Marines Indians 20-0 in their home opener at St. Mary's College. Kenny Williams pitched 5 innings of shutout ball, striking out 8 with no walks while allowing only 1 hit, and reliever Greg Conden closed the door by striking out 5 with no walks and allowing 1 hit in the final 2 innings. Offensively for The Door, Chris D'Antuono went 2-4, 3 RBI's, 3 runs scored with a triple; Nick Vallandingham went 3-5 with an RBI and 3 runs scored; Jason Bean went 3-5 with an RBI, 2 runs scored with 2 doubles; Bill DeAtley went 2-5 with an RBI and 2 runs scored; Steve De Barr went 1-3, 2 RBI's, 3 runs scored with a double; and Mike De Barr had an RBI at his first league at-bat. The St. Mary's pitchers also helped their own cause with Kenny Williams going 1-2 with a double and an RBI and Greg Conden having a 2-2 day with a double and 2 RBI's.

Bumpy Oak broke open a 9-9 tie in the bottom of the eighth inning with 7 runs to win 16-9. John Lee led the Bombers offense with two doubles and 5 RBI. Clint Sanders, BJ Kittle, Darren Sanders, and Danny Michael each added doubles. For Western Charles, Jason Boyd had a homerun while Tony Stefko, Danny Lydon, Mike Mills, and John Kehres contributed with doubles.

In an wild 17 inning affair, Legion prevailed by overcoming deficits four times in the game. Western Charles jumped ahead by scoring two in the top of the fourth. Legion answered with two runs in the bottom of the sixth. The game remained tied until the top of the eighth when Western Charles went up by one. Legion answered with one in the bottom of the inning. There was no scoring again until the top of the 15th when John Klopfer III drove in the go-ahead run. Down by a run with two outs, Mike Buckler hit a clutch solo shot over the center field fence to tie the game once again. In the top of the 17th, Western Charles again went ahead when Danny Lydon singled in a run. But again, Legion responded with two in the bottom of the inning to take the victory. Offensively for Western Charles, Jason Boyd, Tony Stefko, John Klopfer III, Danny Lydon, and Nick Vitielliss all had multiple hits contributing to the 16 hits in the game. Klopfer had a home run and three RBI and Lydon had two RBI. Offensively for Legion, Joel Hudson, Jon Bass, Mike Buckler, and Jacob Cooksey all had multiple hit games contributing to Legion's 12 hits in the game.

Legion started the scoring early in the top of the first after a couple of walks and 2 base hits. 3 runners crossed the plate, and Legion collected another run in the top of the 2nd. In the 4th inning after a J. Hudson solo homerun, Legion scored 5 runs with two outs after an errant throw to first for the would be third out. The second homerun of the inning was hit by J. Bass and that was followed by a single, two walks, and a double before the last out. Bryans road got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 4th with a Martin Queen walk and stolen base, followed by a Chris Blondin single. Rusty Buchanan took the mound to relieve Ryan Leonard in the top of the 5th, and walked the first 5 batters that he faced. 4 of those batters went on to score runs in that inning. Jason Murray was brought in to relieve Buchanan, and he was able to shut down Legions offensive attack. In the bottom of the 5th inning, Bryans Road scored 3 runs on 3 hits, a walk, and an error. Tony Sweeney came in to relieve Nick Coucoules in the bottom of the 5th inning. In 2 1/3 innings Sweeney collected 3 strikeouts and only gave up one hit.

St. Mary's - 12  Western Charles - 8

Visiting St. Mary's sent 9 batters to the plate and scored four runs in the 1st inning and never lost the lead on their way to a 12-8 win over Western Charles. Steve Zumpano led off the game with a double and scored on a single by Chris D'Antuono. Paul Burch drove in Jason Bean (who had walked earlier) and D'Antuono, and scored himself to give St. Mary's the early 4-0 lead. Ryan D'Antuono and John Spinnenweber walked to begin the 4th inning and both scored to put St. Mary's up 6-0. Western Charles eventually scored 3 runs in the 6th, but St. Mary's answered in the 8th inning by sending 10 batters to the plate and scoring 6 more runs. Western Charles scored 1 in the 8th. Trailing 12-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Western Charles would score 4 more runs courtesy of a John Klopfer, III grand slam, but St. Mary's reliever Kenny Williams kept his composure and struck out Kenny Graff to pick up the save.
St. Mary's starter Greg Conden picked up the win, allowing only 3 hits over 5 shut-out innings while striking out 4 and no walks, and Nick Vitielliss took the loss for Western Charles, giving up 6 runs on 3 hits in 3 innings of work while striking out 3 and walking 3.
Offensive leaders for St. Mary's were Steve Zumpano who went 3-6 with a double, 3 RBI's and 2 runs scored and Paul Burch who went 2-5 with a double, 4 RBI's and 1 run scored. For Western Charles, John Klopfer, III was 2-4 with a grand slam, 4 RBI's and 3 runs scored and Tony Stefko went 2-5 and 1 run scored.

Tommy Sellers pitched 7 innings of 4-hit ball with no walks and allowed only 2 runs. BJ Kittle pitched 2 innings of shutout ball in relief. Bobby Connolly led the Bombers' offense with a 2-for-3 day including a double and a triple with 2 runs scored. Other extra base hits turned in (all were doubles) included Kittle, John Lee, Bobby Rawlings, and Jaime Wright. Phil Cronan led Combine with a 2-for-4 day, including a solo homerun.

BJ Kittle led the Bumpy Oak offense with a 4-for-6 day and 3 runs scored. Additionally, Kittle pitched 4 innings in relief and had 5 strikeouts. Ray Michael, Clint Sanders, and John Lee each had two hits apiece and RBI as well. Tommy Sellers pitched 5 shutout innings for the Bombers' pitching victory. Mike Foster and Mark Pinto led Waldorf with 2 hits each while Chris Boyce and Billy Howser chipped in doubles for the game's only extra base hits. Shaun Bowling took the loss for Waldorf but struck out 7 in 5 2/3 innings. Mike Boyce relieved for 3 1/3 innings and allowed only one run.
